STEM BUILD at UMBC

STEM BUILD at UMBCThe STEM BUILD at UMBC Initiative is a comprehensive student success initiative investigating best strategies for engaging, training, and mentoring promising students to persist and excel in STEM, particularly the biomedical and behavioral sciences.  Conducted using randomized control trial methodology, the Initiative’s BUILD Training Program (BTP) supports undergraduate participation in a condensed three-week version of the introductory component of UMBC’s PHAGES (Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Sciences) Program to provide BTP Trainees with an authentic group research experience to help develop essential competencies needed for success in the research field.

BTP is supported by the National Institutes of Health-funded STEM BUILD at UMBC Initiative (National Institute of General Medical Sciences, NIH Grants 8TL4GM118989, 8UL1GM118988, and 8RL5GM118987).
